Atelier – light and space
Ground floor, 25 m², with outdoor seating on the south-eastern side
Gaze up through the ridge skylight from the snug comfort of the double bed and watch the sky, clouds and stars. This cosy one room apartment with a ceiling height of 4 metres and visible roof construction is not merely conducive to a good night’s rest or relaxed read, but also concentrated work. A large table provides ample space for writing and contemplation, or a dinner for two. The small kitchen unit with a refrigerator and glass-ceramic cooktop is fully equipped. Whether showering with a view of parkland trees or taking in the outlook from the panorama windows on the village side – here one lives surrounded by nature.
The delightful countryside location and characteristic quality of this particular spot is revealed in its seasonally changing views. However a side glance of the chalet’s architecture and the beech and oak-lined boulevard Louis-Nathan-Allee are available to the observer throughout the year. In the leafless season one’s gaze is rewarded by looking across the gardens towards the Gründerzeit villas of Waldmüllerstraße, a street that was planned by Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg. Dark winter evenings are punctuated by twinkling lights. When green envelops the area in summer, warm evenings are best spent languishing from the south-facing outdoor seating area.
